“Was it not told my lord what I did when Jezebel slew the prophets of the LORD, How I hid an hundred men of the LORD’S prophets by fifty in a cave, and fed them with bread and water?”

Praise God for Elijahs who boldly take a stand for the Lord and withstand (sometimes, seemingly alone) the forces of evil. And praise the Lord for Obadiahs who though they are not as bold and choleric, they do what they can to safeguard the cause of Christ. Most of us would rather have an Elijah spirit that could turn the hearts of the children back to the fathers. Most of us want to stand on Mount Carmel and win a public victory against black-robed Baal priests! Perhaps hiding in seclusion does seem prudent at times, but when heretics are swarming and a nation is halt between two opinions, it rather resembles cowardice.

It is obvious to the leaders of Antioch Baptist College that we cannot compete with the many Bible Colleges and Church Institutes in the quad-state area. There is a serious spiritual dearth in the land, but why should the brethren think that we can offset it. Success is the best publicity. Therefore, Antioch Baptist College is not hiding anymore! For those who are Baptists, who are convinced that there is a definite call on their lives for the pastorate, mission field, or some related local church position; we are the best college for YOU!

And here is why:

1. In doctrine and all Bible related theologies, we are balanced and committed to true Biblical scholarship,
2. With the partnerships of five aggressive local Baptist Churches, the students will have on the job training,
3. We are a school that is committed to the student’s practical success even after graduation,
4. We offer a Scholarship Intern Program that pays the student back with real dollars and responsibility,
5. We teach and illustrate soul winning, and variety of preaching situations (including on the streets, rallies, etc.),
6. We emphasize church planting and are committed to the young man who has this call from the Lord,
7. We rebel against the Seeker-Sensitive Movement and yet we show the students a better way of outreach success,
8. We are multifaceted with gifted men that are eager to pass the baton to the new runners,
9. We are committed to serving and enriching the Lord’s local churches.

We are NOT bashful or intimidated anymore, we are begging God for an hundred new prophets to come out of hiding!

Another area that we are burdened and excited about is our Mission Program. The 10/40 window of the World needs a new crop of brave Missionaries to be trained. Antioch Baptist College is going to rise to this challenge. With professors and new courses being developed, ABC is going to make it hard for ‘missionary minded’ students to ignore our school. A new scholarship is being developed to provide seniors with a trip to the mission field that will costs them a fraction of the real expense. We are asking churches now to contribute to this Mission Scholarship Fund, so that dozens of future Carey’s and Judson’s will be given invaluable advantages. Brother Ed Kittle, former great missionary to Brazil, is helping us to develop this radical program.

Antioch Baptist College is not for everyone. Do we want everyone interested to come, well, maybe not?

Teaching the Bible to faithful Christians who want to be better disciples is taken seriously by our staff and faculty. But the reason for our existence, is to train a force that will storm the gates of hell in these closing scenes of the Gentile Age.

We are coming out of the cave, and we are asking all the brethren to help us repair the altars and pray down fire from Heaven!
